Inundation on Jalan DI Panjaitan Receded as Rain Stops

Alhamdulillah, conditions have returned to normal

Some 15 joint personnel of the Water Resources (SDA) Task Force and Jatinegara Sub-district PPSU, East Jakarta, managed to handle inundation on Jalan DI Panjaitan and under Jalan MT Haryono, Friday (9/9) night.

Jatinegara Sub-district Head Muktar said that personnel cleaned up trash that clogs water channels and helped regulate traffic in order to prevent unwanted things.

According to him, rainwater as high as 40 to 50 centimeters inundated Jalan DI Panjaitan, precisely in front of the Patria Park Hotel until near the Kalimalang T-junction at around 4:30 PM when it was raining with high intensity. But, the water quickly receded by about 20 centimeters when the rain had receded.

"As the rain stopped, the inundation on Jalan DI Panjaitan began to recede," he explained.

The same condition was also spotted on the border of RW 04 and 05 Kampung Melayu and Jalan H. Kaiman, RW 05 Rawa Bunga about 40 centimeters high, as well as under Jalan MT Haryono with a water height of about 30 centimeters.

"Alhamdulillah, conditions have returned to normal but the officers continue to clean the channels and gutters," he stated.
